Indotestudo forsteni
Forsten's Tortoise Distribution: the Indonesian island of Sulawesi. Empire Stock: WC exported from Indonesia. Size: 25 cm. Habitat: Damp forests. Diet: They seem, at least initially, to have a preference for yellow foods like; corn, cantaloupe, and crooked-neck squash. We feed these foods plus Romaine, mushrooms, and some animal protein. Edible Plants Sexing: Males have concave plastrons and longer thicker tails Breeding: Males can be aggressive breeders. This species is probably best kept in small groups. Notes: The least widely distributed of the Indotestudos they are the most heavily imported. Imports are heavily stressed and parasitized. |
