Alexander Springs 3 This 6' Alligator is one of three that I have seen in the spring area. I have a short video of a smaller one on the video page. |
|
I estimate this one to be in the 10-11' range. I can't say I advise being this close let alone close enough to put a tape measure on it. |

They say underwater cameras add 30 pounds. |

Black Vultures Coragyps atratus taking an early morning bath and getting a drink. What I didn't get a photo of, was later in the day when I was coming out of the water, I found them fighting over my shoes. Some had the laces and others had the tongue. They were pulling and tearing as hard as they could in an attempt to get a piece to eat. Which shows that if you wear running shoes a couple of days without socks, they start to smell like something dead. The shoes held up pretty good. Maybe I should contact Nike about an idea for a commercial? |

Alexander Springs Creek is well worth canoeing or kayaking. The water is crystal clear and there is plenty of wildlife. Like this alligator... |
|
...and plenty of turtles like this Peninsular and Redbelly Cooter. Occasionally you will see basking Softshells and Loggerhead Musks. |
