Southern Hognose Snake

Florida Distribution: Lake Okeechobee north.

Identification: up to 61 cm. Sharply upturned rostral scale. Underside of tail not lighter than belly. In my experience, these do not put up the aggressive display that the Eastern Hognose does. Both will play dead if pushed.
