Rough Green Snake

Florida Distribution: entire state.

Identification: up to just over 1 M. Slender Green Snake with keeled scales.

Hard to get a focused shot of. These snakes are capable of quickly disappearing into vegetation.

The few of these snakes that I have handled have never made any attempt to bite.

Keeled scales give it its common name and help distinguish it from the Smooth Green Snake, which is found in the North of the U.S..
