Gulf Coast Smooth Softshell

Florida distribution: found in Escambia County.

Identification: to 28 cm. Lacks the stripes on the legs that A. spiniferus has. Carapace is smooth and the front edge of the carapace lacks the bumps found in A. ferox, and the spines found in A. spiniferus.

Thanks to Brian and the people at DISL I was able to photograph a specimen of theirs to share with you until I find some in Florida.
